Every day and every hour — here and all around the world — people take their lives. While the reasons vary, the impact on families and communities is devastating. As outlined in a NY Times article on April 22 of this year, the rapidly rising rate of suicide is something our society can no longer ignore.
And while I am not “Debbie downer” (quite the contrary) — I am concerned. Some topics that are near and dear to my heart are depression, mental illness, gay and lesbian issues, and of course, healthy body image which include, mental, emotional & physical health.
I am on a mission to bring light – loving attention and education to all of these topics so when I was asked to speak in San Diego on the topic of body image to bring light to National Mental Illness Month — I SAID YES!
If you live in the San Diego area, please come to my talk one week from today. I would love to meet you in person! Every person is welcome to this event. Registration is free and you can sign up here.
